Visiting Ingatestone Hall
Enjoy an afternoon at Ingatestone Hall. Tour the eight principal rooms containing paintings, furniture and memorabilia accumulated over the centuries and wander in the ten acres of gardens.

The house and grounds are open from noon to 5 p.m. (last entry 4 p.m.) on Wednesday, Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday afternoons from Easter until the end of September. EXCEPT Wednesdays in June

When numbers permit, visits to the house are by means of conducted tours. On busier days visitors are invited to explore the house independently. During the course of the season there are a number of special events (both within and outside normal opening hours).Please note that the character of some of these events has a radical effect on the experience offered to the visitor.

PLEASE NOTE
Some of these and other private events require the
closure or severe restriction of normal access to the house and grounds. During 2010, these restraints will apply on the dates shown below. This list is regularly updated as new arrangements are made. To avoid disappointment, you are advised to check this page shortly before any proposed visit.
There are no restrictions during the 2010 season yet known.
- Free parking in the Meadow Car Park, where picnicking is permitted.
- Teas and light lunches are served in the Summer Parlour whenever the house is open.
- A wide range of gifts and souvenirs are on sale in the Shop.

PLEASE NOTE:
Dogs (except for guide dogs) are not permitted in the house or grounds.
Unaccompanied children are not admitted.
Photography is not permitted inside the house.
We do our best to facilitate wheelchair access but no 16th century house is ideal in this respect. In the house, there is no access to the upper floor and, although most of the grounds are accessible, there are some steep slopes and soft surfaces which may be difficult to negotiate. The House is about a 200 metre walk from the car park.
